Sorry to hear that man! Accidents suck big time. Honestly, I don't think it looks totaled, but that's just me. From looking at the pics, I would guess that you would need to replace drivers front suspension components (maybe rear too), maybe some front bumper mounts or something like that, and the rest would probably be body work. Either way, especially if there wasn't any major frame damage, it definitely looks like it would be worth fixing, rather than replacing it with an entirely different vehicle (which very likely has problems of its own...at least you know this one).
Has the insurance company told you anything, or are you just expecting them to total it? Let us know what they say.
Did they unhook the drive line before towing? If not I would be concerned about possible tranny damage if they towed it very far.
It looks like it could be fixed, I had a friend with an F150 that looked way worse on the front end after hitting a cow. They had it repaired and it is as good as new.
Aw, that'll buff right out, no worries
I too think it's fixable, but the ins. company will likely total it (they seem to like to do this anymore). I'd send a message to Action4478 if I were you, he's got a sharp eye and can probably give you a good ballpark number on what it would cost to make it driveable again.
Frame is bent, entire front suspension will have to be replaced, hood, Qt panel, Drivers door is sprung so I would suspect A pillar damage, that rear panel is a bitch to fix...
You looking at 6-7k in damage to a rig that is worth 15k... Its totaled...
The motor would work, but its a 2003 so it has PMR's, where yours is Forged... Not a huge deal but...
Found out today that the isurance company totaled it. I don't know what they are giving me or how much they will sell it back to me for. I just have the worst luck found out that my F350 would not start. My dad drove down a minivan for my wife to drive untill i get back and looked at it. He said the starter on the f350 broke off the transmission case. So I guess the the transmission case is broken on the f350 were the starter mounts. Just not my luck this week.
Talked to the adjuster today. Not getting as much as i thought i would but they will sell me the salvage for $1200.00 I think I am going to pull the trigger on it and part it out when I get back. Anyone need some parts?
That's not bad to buy it back. You could get more than double for it "as is" I would imagine. If you part it out I think the wife needs to help you take it apart. Probably 4-5 k if you part it out.
