Front Axle Alignment question

Front Axle Alignment question
I have a feeling I am going to hate the answer to this question. I am doing u-joints on the front end of a 1985 Ford F350 6.9L Diesel. Does the alignment of the axle's matter? Does the alignment of the axle to slip yolk matter? I just realized I didn't mark anything while removing it. I am hoping this is not like a driveshaft.... I am not going to get any vibrations.

I always line up the u joints when I put the slip yoke back together, but I have seen a lot of peopple that dont bother. The axle only spins if the hub is locked and I dont know if you'd be able to notice much difference with the axle out of phase or not

Alignment only matters if you are dealing with more than one u-joint. So the driver's side axle doesn't matter. The passenger side does. For the u-joint on each end to work together, they need to be in alignment. This also applies to the front driveshaft with the slip yoke, and the rear one also if it is the slip-yoke type like the front.
