restoring a 77 F100 4x4, fleet side or flair side?
I am restoring a 77 F100
The bodywork to the cab has been completed and I am left with the decision to either use one of two beds I have for the truck.
I have a slightly used fleet side with minor dings and dents on the sides and a little bit of dents and dings on the bed floor to repair as well.
the flair side is straight as an arrow. Original end panel, tailgate bed sides all 100% dent free. The down supports had some rust but have been repaired. the lower bed extensions i fabricated from scratch and look factory right down to re using the factory welded bolt for the lower fender mount. There is a bit of rust to deal with on the upper portion of the fenders (pass side is completed and primed).
My problem is every time I see a fleet side completed, I like the looks of it. but every time I see a flair side (especially in a 4x4) I like the look of it as well and especially like the fact that they are not as common and will really make this truck stand out when completed.
And yes, I thought of actually completing both beds and change them out as my mood changes.

LOL! I thought of that option as well. I am however after restoring this one going to purchase a 79 Bronco. Yes I have the disease!
