Well, I fixed some of my oil leaks, put on a new pcv and grommet and just capped where the breather was. and then put on a new pushrod cover gasket. unfortunately while reinstalling the pushrod cover, I had hooked my ac compressor on the radiator core support, and while sitting in the engine bay accidently put my foot on it and punctured my radiator... AAHHH!!!
also for your viewing pleasure, my buddy got t-boned in his rx7
does anyone know about how much a radiator will be?
I purchased one at AutoZone for my '66 recently and it was $185 and it looked perfect until I tried to install it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a '65 radiator (NumberDummy knew what it was instantly from my description). Apparently, the '66 radiator is different from the '65 radiator. The '65 has a rear mount flange whereas the '66 has a front mount flange. In any event, I was able to get the correct radiator from NPD, but it cost me about $330. Be glad you have a '65 model and can get the correct radiator for a decent price. Funny thing is, when I asked them to pull up the '65 part# to compare with the '66 part#, they didn't even have a listing for the '65. Go figure.
well, oddly lmc has the 65 radiator priced at twice as much as the 66, and I have a 66 in it right now believe it or not, it was changed over at one point for some reason or another.
actually I have a chevy radiator in it! go figure, getting it rerpaired today, basically leaving the frame and puting in a new core, 3 core to be exact! don't really need a ford one, i'd need to replace my new hoses and fix the tranny cooler lines...
my father in law got a front mount radiator for a 78 or so f150 or f100 for
50$ from a junk yard.. perfect condition... while out we checked at autozone and a radiator for that truck would be 145ish...
I bought one for my 65 ... only autozone didnt carry ones for 65... so I got one for a 75... worked perfectly..145 as well.. had 20 dollars credit.. so 125 for a 3 core.
well the shop that's doing the work is actually gonna build me an aluminum one, 3 core, made to just bolt in with the current setup, figured that'd be the easiest.
No more overheating at 45 degrees in the morning! it was actually clogged somewhere in the middle, like half the runners were.
