I need to replace the leaf springs on the front and rear of my 4x4 1996 F-250 . What bushings need to be replaced when I do this ? Does energy suspension have a front and rear bushing kit and if so does anybody have a part # ? I would like to go with urethane bushings . Where is a good place to get the springs ?
Any spring shop can fix you up with a new set of springs and advice if you want make a change with the rears. Thats the route I took anyway. Maybe the urethane bushings too. There are a couple of options on the Energy suspension bushings. The rear spring hangers came with either a moulded or pressed bushing. So you would have to know which ones you have. You'll need new u bolts too. If your doing it yourself the fronts torque to 95 lbs and the rears 125 lbs. You shouldn't torque them up until you have it back on the ground and the weight of the truck on the springs. I'll dig up a couple of links for ya.
I just replaced the leaf spring and axle pivot bushings in my 250. The kits I ordered were 4.2121 for the front, 4.2140 for the rear ( with molded in bushings), and 4.3133 for the axle pivot bushings. I believe that if you do get new springs they come with new bushings, but I don't know for sure, like I said I just replaced the bushings.
