Thanks for the emotional boost, I hope the trans is ok, I can get the dex/merc from work free most of the time, Hopeflly there is some lying around somewhere tomorrow. Might just go ahead and put in the synthetic stuff. I can get that stuff free too.

There are two schools of thought around changing badly burnt transmission fluid. Usually, right after you change out the burnt fluid, the trans dies. Some say that's because the crud was the only thing holding it together, and the new fluid flushed away all the crud. Others say that the trans was damaged because of the burnt fluid and it was going to die very soon anyway.

I am going to toss in some lucas to help avoid any problems. Not one of my favorite products, but i have heard that it works.
