Well I finally had a chance to get some fuel mileage records now that I'm running the Spartan Phalanx with 120hp tune. I just returned from a rifle hunt in NW Missouri covering 1372 miles round trip. With my rig in my signature I averaged 18.65 miles/gal! I'm very happy to say the least All hand calculated
I ran 99% interstate highway and set cruise at 72mph, 2000RPM. Slow and easy start and stops. Yup I drove like a grandpa and I'm 37. The first tank of fuel was B5, the 2nd was USDL with 16oz of Powerservice and the 3rd tank was B11. I run bio everyfill up here in Mi but in Missouri it was not available at my stop. I should also note I was fortunate to have good tail winds to and from my trip which I'm sure also aided. On a similar trip last fall my best average was 16.7miles/gal un-tuned. I now have 30,000 trouble free miles on my rig. Knock-on-wood
FYI, I missed a 140 class 10 point chasing a doe at 80yards on the trip. Also passed a 130 class 8 point and a 140class that's G3 and G4 were busted. Hope to return there next year and settle the score!
I just installed Innovative Diesel's sct X-3 w/custom tunes and have not seen any measurable increase or decrease w/the "street" tune as it relates to MPG just yet, early though.
