So just did a MAF conversion. Took a wiring harness from a 95 and put it in my 91. Everything worked out but the one question I have left is about the IAT sensor( located in the air box before the MAF stock).
I cant find where to put the wire that goes into the ECM. The pinouts and wiring diagrams I have either say ACT( located on lower intake) or just dont have the sensor on them.
I dont remember if the donor truck had both or not but all the info I can find uses the 2 sensor names interchangeably, so do I need both or is one or the other good enough?
Which one should I use if it is?
I used the pinouts on here: Ford Fuel Injection
I used my Haynes manual and any wiring diagrams i could find on the internet and cant figure it out.
ACT stands for Air Charge Temperature and IAT is Intake Air Temperature which is the same thing and you only need 1 of them.
Ok got that. is one better than the other or whats the deal?
I have the ACT hooked up now but the IAT sensor and wire is just hanging out in there and could be plugged in no prob.
So which one should I use?
It's just a different name for the same thing so get a sensor and plug it in. On earlier motors the air temp sensor was located on the lower intake but it was moved out to the airbox later on.
