2000X needs dash bulb replacement

2000X needs dash bulb replacement

My 2000 Excursion is slowly loosing ( burning out) dash light bulbs in the instrument cluster.

Any suggestions on how to get to the bulbs for replacement?
What are you replacing yours with? Stock or aftermarket?

Stock just go to autozone or walmart and ask for 194 bulbs

Pull the radio >> Remove the Dash frame >> Remove the screws for the cluster >> Remove the Gear Selector >> Remove the Cluster >> Replace Bulbs.

I read somewhere that you can drop the steering column and get access to the instrument cluster from underneath .

Does this sound feasible?

Sorry for dusting this thread off and bringing it to life but how many of each bulb (LED) would I need? Got some dead ones and the front left blinker doesn't work because the bulb is dead and figured I'd just replace them all. Thanks!

Im curious to know more about your success... id like to replace all my bulbs with LEDs. I did every light on the outside so far, now want to do the interior lights.
