When I bought my truck it was missing the track bar and i would really like to put one back on it because, it does not handle that good. i have looked all over and can not find one or the drop bracket. It is a early 99 with a 6-8 inch lift....
Ahhhh........I hope you mean SWAY BAR!
The trac bar is what holds the axle from going side to side.
You can see it behind the steering linkage, coming down at an angle above the diff in this picture.
No the sway bar is missing too, the track bar and the bracket is gone, my front axle is shifting side to side does it real bad when it is wet this is why i want to put the track bar back on, i can find adjustable ones and the brackets for a late modle but nothing for a early bird.....surly someone sells somthing for a earlybird???

You can have my stock E99 if you want it when I change out my front end. Let me know if you want it.
Man, that truly sucks. I'll dig around and see what I can find. You might talk to Ed, or dig around at a junk yard. You could always fab something up too.

Stock won't do him any good, he's running a lift.
What you need to do is buy a late model drop track bar bracket (available online from various sources... sorry don't have any links) and an adjustable track bar such as this one.

Stock will work if I give him my drop bracket too. I am currently running it a lift. The late model won't work for him unless he swaps out hix axle because they have different sized brackets. With an early he could take it to a local shop and have them make an adjustable one out of it too.

For the late model bar you can drill out the bracket on the axle... that's what I'm going to be doing here real soon. You do have to swap out the upper bracket though.
I thought of modding my track bar to be adjustable too, but it's hard (at least for me) to source a good part for the adjuster mechanism.
You can get adjustable track bars from Cary at CTPerformance, also from
Sky manufacturing. Heim joints on each end & I think they run around $125.
Are you sure they are for early 99's? Most will tell you that having at least 1 end rubber bushed is a good idea on a daily driver rig... I can't see where heims would hurt but I'm no expert.
They have two different sellers on ebay w/ adjustable track bars. One is about 100 bucks the other is about 180... I would send you the link, but, I don't have time to go find them. search f250 or superduty track bar and they should come up.
I got an adjustable on ebay for 100 bucks after I leveled my truck. Greasable too. Solid.. No problems with it. Search ebay, hes always selling them. Sold tons of them from the feedback I read on him..
Thanks for all the help everybody, i might take u up on that offer Clay let me know when u do the swap, but first i check some junks yards and see what i come up with, if i do try and put a late modle on what do i all need, just the drop bracket and a adjustable track arm??? also what all needs drilled out and has anyone else done this before to give me some tips?????
