Some bad luck....

Well I had the rear axle rebuilt with all new bearings and limited slip plates as well, axles has very minimal pitting and ring and pinion looked good. I then start getting a vibration coming from the drive shaft. I have a driveline shop refurb the entire shaft, new u joints all that. I then go for a ride and get on it a little from a dead stop and It goes and POW... I have no forward gears, drive shaft is fine, I have reverse and it works fine. It was cool reversing down one way streets in Dana Point to a safe parking spot. Tranny has plenty of fluid, it just revs up in d 2nd and low. I put two quarts of fluid and when I shift from d to low it feels to kick in but still just revs. Transfer case? Tranny? More money? Yes.

If you can't take sarcasm, leave it alone. Can the vulgar responses.

it does sound like your tranny may have gone, might not hurt to pull the pan and check the filter, maybe toss a new one in it along with some fresh fluid and see where you stand after that.
what vulgar responses?

kemicalburns,I may be wrong about this and not trying to argue
but if the modulator was gone wouldn't it just stick in low gear,or shift right into drive?I'm no expert when it comes to auto trannies just throwing that out there,I have seen the filters collapse and cause the loss of one or both directions in a trans before.

you could be right. although if he has lost a vacum line to it or its leaking will cause issues. All i am saying mainly here is to check the cheap stuff first.

hey kemicalburns,I'm all about keeping it simpe and cheap, mainly cheap!!!!
but even if the modulator is toasted it would still have forward gears, just disfunctional ones,as much as I hate to say it,odds are the tranny is done.
