I don't see any worthwile "smoother ride" from a leaf sprung ttb. Sometimes my truck's frame seems to flex before my stiff front springs will let my ttb flex. And the truck rides like a steamroller. I slammed my front end into a small ditch today while wheelin and everything inside the cab went flyin. I guess the truck's just trying to tell me it's time for new shocks.
O damn steve is back, he is every were. wow way to burst the bubble. so your out near whidbe island, my grand parents live out there, i love it there its so nice
Wrong sir, the f150 has a dana 44 and is a 5lug, on the f250 dana 44s they are and 8 lug and have bigger axles, thus considered a dana 44HD. why is the smily getting hit look happy?
Man, you are full of all types of stupid.
The ONLY thing HD about a D44HD is the brakes.( = same as a D60)
There is no such thing as a D44HD TTB. The D50 TTBs found in F250s were 8 lug, used a 9" ring gear vs the 8 3/4" of the 44, 30 spline carrier similar to a 44, Larger u joints same as D60 outers - I think.
I am by far an expert on the TTB axles so please educate me further.

X2. I've got a dana 44 ttb, 8 lug, leaf sprung, F250. If it's not called a 44HD ttb, then what do you call a 3/4 ton dana 44 ttb???
Huh, guess im another of those poor ignorant fools that has seen and owned a ttb dana 44 w/ the bigger brakes 8 lugs and leaf springs. Just because YOU think your an expert on something definitely does NOT make it true. Sure, if you want to call this axle something different all on your own be our guest, but the rest of the world will continue to refer to the ttb dana 44 axle found under the F250s as the ttb dana 44HD. But what do I know, Im not an expert.
