Keep throwing parts at it. Sooner or later it may be fixed.

Take it to a shop that can read transmission codes.

Just because a code indicates such and such does not mean that item is bad.

The problem lies in that circuit.

Yes it could.

You'd be best served by getting the codes read so that you'd know what needs to be looked at instead of just swapping parts hoping for the best.

well you can't have that.for 100% you'll need to replace the pack.
89-94 e4od solenoid pack.

who knows if you need something else after this is replaced but that's an absolute.sometimes other issues are just as telling as electrical codes are to help in diagnosis.

Hey Mark,

Reading up some on the past forum here and saw the thread was alive again,

What's your experience with the e4od / od light flash / harsh shifting ?

Believe I may have bought myself a obd1 lemon as I have dumped quite a bit into the truck so far trying to fix this issue .

As has been stated several times in this and other threads.

Have the codes read.

My experience with that issue is that if you don't read the codes you end up throwing a lot of money at it, usually without fixing the problem. If you start with reading the codes you know right where to begin the diagnosis.

It is also my experience that there is no such thing as a lemon. There are just people that don't know how to fix it, and instead of learning how, or taking it to someone that does know, they label it a lemon. I'm certain that if the right diagnostic procedure is followed it can be fixed, and often for very little money.

Can any one help? E4do Transmission takes a while to shift from R to Drive but works fine in all gears. I did loose all trans fluid last year while plowing when line broke. had some issues for the first 10 minutes after repairing line and getting fluid correct. no codes due to battery replacement last week. can any body help?

you guys really need to start new threads.whats happening here is that people will be searching and then reading all kinds of issues that have nothing to do with theirs and end up wasting a lot of peoples time.
by starting new threads people in the future can find what they're looking for much much quicker and easier.

to get there ^ so that you'll see the option, simply click here first:

Would the TPS sensor make the truck run bad? It runs just fine untill it gets a little warm then its like the truck goes into "limp mode" has no power and spues white smoke untill i shut it off and start it back up, but even then the truck runs good for a min and goes right back to doin the same thing. I just put a band new transmission in it, doesn't even have 5 miles on it!

There's about 50 things that can do that. The TPS is one of them. Read the codes! Ford ? OBD Trouble Codes
