What are the best roll on bedliners out there? I can't stand the drop in that came with my truck and I can't afford a Line Ex or Rhino liner. I'm also a DIY type of guy. The only things my bed ever really holds are scrap rotors from my dad's shop or firewood, so the bed isn't abused. What are your opinions?
If you can't afford to do the Line-X, which in my opinion is the best as I have had the Rhino too, leave the drop in and put a rubber bed mat. It will keep things from sliding around and give more cushion than any spray in liner against damage from tossing things in, also the drop in will protect the sides at least until you can afford the Line-X then I would still keep the rubber bed mat in.
I have a BedRug in one now that was about the same $ as Line-X and is awesome, just don't spill gas on it, but it has withstood alot of abuse, it's not carpet, it's shredded PVC so you can do alot to it.
I also have the bed rug. there is a guy on ebay that has factory seconds...ie one that might have been sent back with a problem and fixed by the factory...still with warranty. there are alot less than a new one. I bought one from him about three years ago and love it...ill never go back to a spray on...
Line-X is the best. If you can not have it professionally done save your money and don't do it. I have owned many work trucks and the beds hold up best with Line-X or nothing. No rubber. No plastic. The last two breed rust. Personal experience.
all of the roll ons are terrible. the peel right off. yo need to get line-x as i believe its applied HOT, which helps with the boonding to the bed of the truck. HOWEVER if you do choose to do it yourself, make sure you send the hell out of the bed. Probably even media blast it as this will get you the best adherence...
I used Duplicolor's Spray on bed liner for my nerf bars on my truck.....They have only been sprayed for about 3 weeks now but i really like how they turned out.....I thought it was going to be more "Plasticy" like but its alot more hard than i thought which will probably be better.. They have roll on kits too but i just used a couple cans of the aerosol spray........Like some of the others have said i think preparing the surface is the most important part of it.
