as far as 1100 rpm cold idle i've spent the last couple years working with 1000hp cat/cumins/detroits, the base idle setting is right around 1100. they start em at1100,they shut em down at 1100 and the engine never seem to have issues. alot of the time i'll turn my idle switch on when i shutdown, the next morning i hit the command start, about 5 seconds after it fires up the revs crank up. i am running synthetic oil, now if i had frozen 15w40 that might be another story
It was $332.41 and purchased from the parts counter at my local dealer, definitely check prices as I found some had different prices. The part # for the security system is 7L3Z-19G364-AA, if you have a PATS key you will also need this part # 7L2Z-19G365-AA ($332.41 for both).
PorchFarms...if your key fob looks like the 1 I posted you have the gold package, "gold package" refers only to the rem. start/keyless entry/sec. system. They have a "silver" and a "bronze" package as well of which do not have all options, i.e. silver may have just security and keyless entry, bronze I think is just keyless entry.
I did put one on my 2003 F250 (7.3L) but it was a different part # of which I don't know what it is. They did change as the one on my '07 is different from the one in the 2003.
Thanks for your reply, my truck is an '06 and it looks like Code changed the system in '07. But it looks like the Gold kit for an '06 is part # 2W7Z-19G364-AA
The only problem with the PTO wire is if you are jumping somebody and your battery is weak then truck will not elevate any further to protect YOUR system. Yes its an instant jump...like 2-3 secs. after all criteria is met, but I usually have the A/C, heat, work lights running, or jumping someone...so the charge protect ckt. was a good choice for me.
I don't want to hi jack the thread however, when I pulled the plastic cover off to access the upfitter switch wires there is a 14 pin white female connector, a 4 pin female connector and a 2 pin female connector just laying in there next to the fuse panel. Does anyone know what these are for?
