FX4 shifter console indicator

I have an 06' FX4 and the bulb is out the illuminates the shifter selector on the console. Anybody know how to get at that bulb? I don't see an access panel and don't want to start prying to see what moves.

Thank's

Open up your center compartment, you'll see a indent right where the trim for the shifter area is and where the center compartment meet. Pry up on that, be careful its just clips, dont break nothing. From there youll get access to all around your shifter. The bulb is located on the drivers side right under where your display would be (duh lol), the bulb should just spin then pull out. Its really a simple process, I did mine in 5 mins, if you have a screw driver it wont be a problem at all.

Like he said. Mine was dim for 2 years 'till I read on here how easy it was to get at. I went out, popped that panel up, the trim ring then pops of from around the shifter and the bulb is right there....well, mine was right there as it had fallen out of the socket 2 years back and was hanging down beside the hole, illuminating the display dimmly. I put it back in with a new bulb, much better. Now my wife can back it up at night.

its a standard "push in" style bulb like ford has used on cab and license plate lights for the longest time.
