Hello, I am in a pickle, I really hope you guys can help me. Long story short. My 150 is down, cause I have to work on the frame, and alot of other things, so I drive my PS, well I was just checking the fuel pressure, and decided to do unplug the <acronym title="Injection Control Pressure">ICP</acronym> (I think thats what its called) to see if that helped smooth out the rough idle. When doing so I lost me 18.5K resistor, and I plugged the <acronym title="Injection Control Pressure">ICP</acronym> back in, it showed the <acronym title="Check Engine Light">CEL</acronym>, so just in case, I put another resistor I had for the truck in its place, and then tried it, still got <acronym title="Check Engine Light">CEL</acronym>, so just put it back to stock, and it won't stop showing the <acronym title="Check Engine Light">CEL</acronym>, even if I undo both batteries, it keeps showing the <acronym title="Check Engine Light">CEL</acronym>... And I need this truck, its my only mode of transportation. I hope you guys can help me. Also if it helps, the <acronym title="Check Engine Light">CEL</acronym> light comes on even as I am cranking it.
But the super strange thing is, it runs better now, than it did with the resistor in place, bunch better, more power, more pick up, and shifts firmer (Kid you guys not) and its a hard shift (Not drag racing hard, but a mildly hard) So anyone got any ideas what it could be and how I can fix it?
Actually , I think there is a problem ,or the CEL would be off . A code will be set , but the light should be off ,, may want to recheck the connections...

On my truck, when I unplugged the icp, the CEL came on. I plugged it back in, but the light stayed on. Once I shut the engine off and then restarted it, the light was off.
Moral of the story: something IS going on.
everytime i have unplugged something on mine just to see what it would do it sets the CEL. I plug the sensor back in(did this with the ICP) shut the truck down and restart and its gone. just like phil said. haha. u need to pull the code and see what it is so you can look at it
Well I plan on checking make sure there is a code, I got a program to read allt eh sensors, but its sucks at getting codes, so I got another one, and I plan on trying to use it tomorrow. If that don't work, then I am going to drive to the school (2 miles away) and just pop in, and read the code, and see what it is. Hope its nothing serious.
I went to the school, got 4 codes, 3 of which were about injector 5 and 7, and another about the ICP, so I unplugged the ICP, but some electrical grease on it, plugged it in and pushed it hard. And checked it, and the problem is fixed. So I am happy. Sorry for wasting your guy's time, but I appreciate the help. Learned alot (And I see why you guys have the corss over pipes now). Thanks for the help though, much appreciated. =D
