I know its not good for our diesels..but what about mine?
I have the banks exhaust system all the way back to the end ?
some girl at school i told her i would trade her..she has a 04 f250.. willl they exchange just fine?
And why exactly is the stock better?
Some have had good luck with it. But you MUST stay on top of cleaning & oiling. Let it get too dirty or dry and it'll let all kinds of dirt into your engine.
The Banks exhaust is fine -- it's a bit more pricey than some other options out there, but since it came with your truck, no reason to trade it off (if I understood that correctly). The 2004s have 6.0L engines and are totally different. Neither the exhaust or intake can be swapped directly. At least the down-pipe will be different on the exhaust. The 6.0L intake can be mod'ed to fit our trucks with a bit of work, but I doubt you could get the 7.3L intake to fit a 6.0L, at least very easily.
Do you have the K&N cold air setup? I believe its the Gen. 2 FIPK? That is what I had originally. Like Joe said, as long as you keep it clean and properly oiled you will be alright with it. I kept the intake tube from my K&N setup, got rid of the heat shield, and added a 6637 filter. I have no complaints with the 6637, plus with Pete's over it looks sweet!
That looks like the cold air set-up and not the drop in filter's that are commonly known for dusting the turbos on our engines. I don't know any more about it.
That's the cold air setup, but I still wouldn't trust the filter. A 6637 will be a tight squeeze with that airbox, I'd be tempted to buy an AFE element and hang it off the K&N tubing.

I have to admit that this has been bugging me since I first read it you state that you know that it is not good for diesels but what about mine? Why would your be any different? So knowing that they are not good for diesels especially ours you want to trade some girl at school for hers? Kinda sneaky if you ask me.
well i told her about it...she says she dosent believe it and used k and n all her lift and wants it...but now she knows it wont even fit... im upfront about that kinda stuff
