EGT Probe

Question about my EGT probe.. I have the sensor mounted pre-turbo, and have had it there for about 5 years now. Is this something that can eventually become weak and break off into the turbo? I hadn't really thought about it much, but it struck me as one of those better safe than sorry deals. Let me know what yall think. Thanks.

With the type of metal used on today's probes, it's extremely rare for it to ever happen. I've never seen anyone post up saying they lost a probe into the turbo.

I agree with Curtis. I have never heard of that happening.

good stuff.. thanks for the replies. I just wondered if years of the constant temperature fluctuations would eventually hurt it, but I guess they have enough years of research on these things to have it down.
