I think i read somewhere on the Glowshift site that each gauge has a 32 mili amp draw on the constant feed, not alot but if the truck was sitting for awhile and the batteries where going down hill i could see it affecting it some. My boost gauge seems accurate, i have a Superchips 1705 set on the tow safe setting and if i get on the go pedal just shy of WOT i can hit just over 20 psi, but didn't want to push it. So seems normal to me, just has a little bit of initial lag but maybe that is just the turbo spooling.

I just wired my DiPricols into a switched 12V source. I'm curious if over time you don't have to cycle power on them to maintain accuracy. My EGT gauge gets off because of interference from my 2-way radio. Power cycling fixes it.

LOL, that sucks about the 2 way radio interference. Well my boost runs at 23 to 24 max and that's if I'm really on it, I usually don't exceed 15 much with normal non aggressive driving.

i have the same gauges. i looked forever for a set and finally found this companies. if your thinking about painting the bezel ide say go for it. i had gauges on my f150 first time around and painted the bezel to match the trim it held the paint really good. liked them so much i got them for my f250

that looks like a good install. i like the match to the factory dash lights

Joe,

These gauges have a constant 12v wire and a switched 12v wire... The constant wire is to hold the memory for the last color that it was on, and so far I haven't had any interference what so ever...

No interference with mine either. My glowshifts have been working super for almost two years. My truck sits in storage for the winter months. Two months i think was the longest stretch without starting and it started right up so i don't think they consume that much power. No more than the radio i would think.

I would assume that they would be fine with good batteries, just threw it on there to be safe.

Looks good!

I used their oil filter adapter to install a few sending units when I installed my gauges. Its a really well built piece and does the job perfectly.

I too have these gauges and have the same comments/ observations... seem to work well, colors are good, instructions OK and you may need a longer boost hose and you will definitely need alot more wires/ in line fuse hook up. Not to mention basic install know how.

I want to comment to on the boost gauge delay, I have a GT38R turbo and it takes a second or so for the needle on the boost gauge to read. I "think" it is due to the size of vacuum hose they use for their hook up. On the back on the gauge and on the T fitting they use what looks to be a brass restrictor plug I "think" to build pressure sooner since the vacuum line is so large. All other brands I've used before use the tiny (brittle) plastic air tubes and no pressure building restrictors in the T fitting and gauge. Seems that with my set up I don't even read 5psi and under like in a slight throttle application. Also my truck is flashed to stock for right now.

If you have stock sticks and a 38R you probably have a lot of lag, what about tuning do you have any?

if you take that brass fitting out you will read alot more boost pressure. thats what i did and it actually fluctuates alot better through the boost levels and will respond better to the spool ups and stuff.

I'm glad this thread came about. I don't recall ever reading anything on these gauges. Seen them on Ebay and figured they were ok, but I'm very encouraged at all the great reviews you guy's are giving. Thanks.

Jeff,

This is the main reason that I wanted to start this one... I did lots of searching on other forums and found very minimal results and they were all of people asking how they were and everyone bashing them because they were "fair" priced gauges.
