Is an E4od out of a diesel the same as out of a gas?

the internals are the same, bolt pattern is different

It is the most popular air intake system on this site for the 7.3 guys!

Basically replaces your airbox with a 45* 4" elbow and a BIG air filter, part number 6637 from napa

Riff Raff Diesel makes a kit for it for about $60 or you can make one yourself.

The 4 inch elbow you can get from Summit Racing, or airflo.com
I really reccommend the kit from Riff Raff Diesel though, it'll end up being cheaper than making your own with all the shipping and what-not. Just the filter from Napa costs almost as much as his whole kit...

As for the torque converter lock:
The thing to remember is to unlock it at low RPM's (below 1100) and REALLY be sure you unlock it before you stop the truck!!! I don't even touch it in city traffic. Only if I'm cruising on a continuous road where the speed changes a lot or going up a hill.
