I always ran Wagner Severe Duty brakes without a problem, I once went two years without having to replace my brakes; when I did, I still had a decent amount of pad left.
The only downside is that O'Reilly auto no longer carries the Severe Duty Pads, so now you have to go one up from those. Just did the brakes not too long ago and they still grab as good as the Severe Duty brakes did.
Lifetime Duralast HD pads here from Advanced Auto. Unlimited free replacement makes it hard to switch but my stock rotors are getting a bit used up and I'll prolly upgrade to the Hawks and better rotors the next time around..Hello Cris..
Thanks guys! I knew I could count on you! I'm stuck at work right now so I will check everything out when I get off this afternoon.
Joe, I really don't have an exact time frame on when I need to do them. They just don't seem to be as effective since I put bigger tires on last week and I'm not real happy with that feeling.
You can run them with or without cryo'ed rotors. I'm running cryo'ed, but all that really does is help them last longer (the rotors, that is). I never heard my indicators -- I only heard noise when the pads ended up being metal-on-metal.
I'm sticking my nose in Cris' thread for my own personal reasons. I have slightly warped rotors on the front (causing the dreaded LURCH when I brake slowly) and they drive me nuts. Would like to go with Cryoed but looking at brands so see which would be best.
My tax return is getting spent on the truck, ALL of it. Building my list.
Well, the best bet if you can plan ahead seems to be cryo'ed Powerslot rotors & Hawk pads from UltimateTruck.com. That's where several of us got this stuff. I've only done my fronts. The rears are still in very good shape, but when they need pads, I'll put the Hawks back there too...

Sorry. Carry on.
Tax RETURN? what's that? LOL. I havent' gotten a return in years, I'd settle for not having to pay. One of the many pleasantries about being self employed.

No kidding. We're making a list of possible write-offs for 2010. We need more.
Called them up and they came on the brown truck the next day. Of course They are only about 70miles away.
Edit: well crap, that link was supposed to be to the page of the line of Hawk pads for our trucks and it does not. WTH? Poke around in the PSD section and you will get to the page if I can't figure out how to direct link it properly.
