How is your door fitment? Since new mine has been noisy whenever I get any body flex at all. Just backing out of my driveway when I hit the road and the body has the slightest twisting force on it there is noise all around the front and rear doors. It happens when I hit bumps in the road as well. Is there an easy adjustment to pull the doors closed tighter or will I have to take a trip to the dealer? I kind of got used to it until I drove my parents 1999 F250SD with 60k miles on it, that is the exact same configuration, and it's quiet as a mouse in the same situations. Seems some adjustment is in order!
I have tightened the doors on my 2000 by moving the door latch stud and the latch itself on the door. They have adjustment in them. I had to play with it some. Only downside I have now is I have to slam the door harder to close. But it did seal better.
i never had a problem with my 04 the only problem i have is because the ext cab superdutys have so much cab flex my doors are bascially rubbing the paint right off them everytime i go hunting, camping, riding, or a little offroading. should have have bought a reg or crew cab i guess.
i have heard of guys who fixed their door issues by removing the weatherstripping from the door and running rubber fuel line into the hole in the tubing. its supposed to make a huge improvement. so far i'm more than happy with mine so i haven't tried it myself
when you go off road or anywhere where the truck will stretch its legs a little stop and try to open your door, it will be hard to open and shut because of the body flex. Have any off you watched your bed as it flexs past the cab when you really stretch her out? i had mine back at the dealer twice for this and they said that its normal and that all trucks flex some its how they are designed. and yes i checked all mounting points myself too. trust me they flex when you stretch them next time just watch it and youll see. my driver and pass door are rubbing the paint off where the top edge of the door touches the seal. since my truck is dark green i can see the lighter primer very easy when i open them, its a real bummer.
My 2000 F250SD has wind noise and also I get road grime on the bottom sill, will adjusting the doors in help with this or do the seals just need replaced, they dont seem worn. Also if I do adjust the doors do I need to adjust both or just rear, or front ?
