I thought a Camper Special had a toolbox in the bed, and a Super Camper Special had the rear wheels pushed farther back, with the spare tire carriage on the side of the bed. This truck doesn't look like either one of those to me. It looks like a regular Super Cab. I could be wrong though, maybe these cues are year-specific.
Just because the eBay ad says it's something, doesn't really mean anything.
Wow, that looks just like my late uncle's truck except the black hood and he had a toolbox. I remember riding home in it after being picked up at the hospital as a child when mom and I were in a very bad wreck. First time I had ever seen it since he just purchased it. I wanted that truck after he died and it was given away to another family member. I even remember there was a cooler in the back floorboard and I opened it up to find Milwalkee Beast. lol.
Oh ok I have never seen one of these before anywhere. I thought it could be rare but I guess I was wrong. I have only seen the single cab Camper Special.
I am the original owner of a 1976 F350 supercab, 460/C6, with the "camper special" package. The equipment in this package was standard on the F350 "super camper special". The equipment in the camper special package (as listed in the 1976 Ford Truck sales brochure) included:
60 amp alternator
80 amp-hr battery (if the truck had a 460, otherwise it was 70 amp-hr)
Oil and ammeter guages
"Bright" 6" x 10" Western long arm mirrors
Front and rear stabilizer bars
"Camper special" emblems (left and right front fenders)
Camper wiring harness
Dual electric horns
HD rear shock absorbers
Extra cooling package (I believe this was just a larger radiator)

that one does have the rear wheels pushed back they only were off set by about 6 inches!
Super Camper Specials are F-350's only with a 140-wheel base.
There are Super Cab, Camper specials, and Crew Cab Camper Specials as well.
The only Crew Cab, Camper Special I've seen though is in the sales Brochures. However these are not SCS's.
Super Camper Specials were 1973-1976 F-350's with a 140-Wheel Base. These have the spare tire carrier inside the bed, behind the large door. 1977-1979 F-350 Camper specials are exactly the same as the Super Camper Special, except the "SUPER" was dropped.
F-350 Trailer Specials with a 140-Wheel Base also had the same spare tire door as the Super Camper Specials. They actually get confused with being actual Camper specials all the time.
pat67shorty...I LOVE those mirrors. Man...I just might have to find me a pair and fill my bolt holes. Those are WAY cooler than my '78 black "tripod" mirrors.
