I need your help guys, last night when I came home the truck was running great. I was getting 22lbs boost and had low egt's. this morning when I left for work my stacks sounded weird kinda muffled not the normal grumble. Well I am only getting up to 12lbs max right now and my egt's are through the roof about 600 higher than usual. Anyone know what could be the problem?
Yes, and listen to the exhaust. If it sounds like a jet, it's closed or partially closed. Could be physically stuck. Now that it's gotten cold, if the thing hasn't closed in a while, it could get jammed up a bit.
Update, started it for work today and drove about half a mile and didn't get any boost at all. put it in park and pushed the throttle to the floor and it would only go up to 1900 rpm but the egts went up to about 1000. The exhaust sounded really weird too kinda a whooshing sound so I am thinking stuck ebpv. I have had the turbo off several times but can I unstuck it without pulling the turbo. And what is the best way of doing so, should I spray some lube on it or no. Thanks brotherhood.

Good point Joe.
Disconnect the rod from the actuator and see if how the valve feels Deven. Do you feel a loss of power also?
Yeah I def have a loss of power. I got it to build boost some now. I got up to about 14 lbs but still sounds like a jet. I unplugged the ebpv sensor but it is still doing it so I am thinking it is partially stuck. But speaking of jets I have to go recover one really quick I will let you guys know what happens.
Also does anyone have a picture of the ebpv sensor connection. I am getting 2 different places one on the front of the engine and one under the turbo which one is it?

It is the one on the turbo pedestal. It is called an EPR (exh press regulator) solenoid.
Ok thanks also if I disconnect the rod is it the lower one? It isn't the one for the wastegate if I remember correctly but maybe i'm wrong it has been so long since I have worked on the turbo. also if i disconnect that actuator can I just let it dangle around or do I need to wire it?
The rod for the EBPV comes out of the pedistal on the turbo, if you disconnect it you have to wire the valve open so the exhaust dosen't force it closed.
Its the rod that does from the pedistal to the exhaust side of your turbo.. You should be able to manually move it back and forth even while is connected.. It sounds like it stuck to me too.
Found the problem guys. The ebpv rod isn't even connected my little clip must have fallen off. I haven't fixed it yet just saw it first thing this morning and had to go to work. My question now is if I wire it open, which way is open and just to make sure I am wiring the right thing I am wiring the tab on the actual ebpv right? Thanks again brotherhood.
