I put a battery bug on mine so it tells me when they are loosing their charge so that doesnt happen to me. In the desert here two years is all you get out of a battery.

interesting. 2.5 yrs old, what is your location? Hard winters or the heat? When I lived in Tucson, AZ you could only get a few years out of them.

I always check my terminals to ensure they are clean. Maybe taking the terminals loose and cleaning them is the issue?

Here is a thought, the engine block heater that you plug in for cold weather? Does it also charge the batteries? Would be nice if it did but I doubt it.

Senix,,yes it was offline,,needed a fix,huh? lol

Ruschejj,, Senix is correct that plugging in has no connection to batterys however I just went through same scenario as you. Cold nights here and truck would not start in A.M but if I plugged in then it would. It dosnt require as much draw ( ? ) if the engine is warm. Maybe this will help till you load test and/or replace..If you replace do them both. I did yesterday

Bought my F350 11/07 I only tow our 5th wheel with this truck and the ocassional Home Depot trip. Truck has 6800 miles. I just had to replace mine when the weather got cold here in Georgia. (Cold as in in the 40's) I put 2 red top Optimas in it. Problem solved. However my previous 01 F250 batteries lasted 6 years.

Lack of use in some cases is worse than over use!

I always keep the terminals clean, I called dealer, of course its over 36000 ml, soo soo sorry, My wifes expdition battery lasted almost 5 years.. oh well Im good for a least 3 years now, instead of 2.5

Koboss watch the other one, mine went out within 6 mos. of changing just the one. Logic would dictate that they service both but you know how that works

Battery requirements are greater during winter months while their output is less, so proper battery care is an important part of equipment maintenance. Fluid Film will effectively stop any corrosion from occurring, allowing batteries to perform at optimum expenditure during this period. Fluid Film will keep battery terminals protected for a minimum of twelve months.

If you've never tried Fluid Film and live in the US, just PM me your contact info and I'll ship out a sample can for free. That is how confident we are in our product.

We are in the Las Vegas area and oddly enough our 04 F150 had the original motocraft battery in it when we traded it in for the new truck last month. I was really surprised it lasted that long even after it was ran dead twice due to a faulty brake light switch.
