Rear end problems

Hey I'm back and once again an idiot is causing me problems. I was replacing the axle seals in the rear end on my '66 and found on the pside axle the bearing must have came apart and dinged up the housing and when they replaced the bearing the tak welded the retaining ring and struck the ark along the sealing surface and in their infinite wisdom the ground it down to try and make it smooth again. My question is out of what vehicles can i use the 9 inch and just bolt it up so my truck isn't down but a couple of hours. Any help would be appreciated due to the low funding of this truck.

NO Passenger Car axle housing will work in a truck. Not a one.

From 1965, some cars had rear coil springs, doesn't really matter though, as all the car axle housings are the wrong length.

1966/72 Thunderbirds, some Galaxie/LTD's and full sized Merc's have a 9" that has a 9 3/8" ring gear.

Only 5 misc internal parts are the same as a 9 inch...nothing else is...including the housing, 3rd member, axleshafts.

1961/66 F100 9" axle housing is the same. Ths is the ONLY housing that will fit.

B7TZ4234A .. Axleshaft / Fits: 1957/67 F100 9" / Right/Left is the same.

The Ford 9" rear axle from F-100s, '67 - 72 are a direct bolt up. You will need to et the entire axles, though, drum to drum. The brakes, brake backing plates, and axle shafts are not the same internally as the '61 - 66 axles. However, the external dimensions are the same,so that are a direct bolt up replacement.

B7TZ4234A .. Axleshaft-28 Splines / Fits: All 1957/67 F100's (11" x 1 3/4" rear brakes).

C8TZ4234A .. Axleshaft-28 Splines / Fits: Most 1968/72 F100's (11" x 2 1/4" rear brakes).

DOTZ4234A .. Axleshaft-31 Splines / Fits: Some 1970/72 F100's with the 9 3/8" ring gear (11" x 2 1/4" rear brakes).

Even though classified as a 9", this H/D rear end has a 9 3/8" ring gear.

Only 5 parts are the same as a regular 9 inch: Housing gasket, front pinion bearing & race, pilot bearing retainer, and pinion seal.

EVERYTHING else is different.

Bill (Number Dummy) corrected the one detail on my earlier post that can be misleading.
That is, the 1967 year.
Although the '67 rear axle will bolt up, it is like the '66 with narrow rear brakes.
My post should have said '68 to '72, not '67 - if you want the larger rear brakes, that is.
