Axle Seals '53 dana 44 inner and outer?
I want to replace the rear wheel bearings and seals on my f100. I got the parts at Napa. The counter man told me that there is an inner and outer seal listed.
I ended up with 4 seals and 2 bearing kits.
I can't find anything about a inner seal? The only seals I see in my shop manual are at the flange ends.
Also when I pulled the shafts there was a lot of oil in the right tube and dry in the left tube.

Don't see any inner seal listed or shown, can't imagine where it would go.
While your shafts are out, it's worth cleaning out the axle tubes. It was suggested to me by MTFlat way back when and I made a scraper out of a long piece of all-thread, with a half-moon piece of sheet metal on the end. I was shocked how much crap was in there, and it can block the oil. It certainly doesn't do anything any good.
