I was on my way to work this morning, everything working normal. Got off freeway and a couple of lights down the road, after stopping, it did not want to shift into second. I let off the throttle and it shifted. After that everything was normal again. The same thing happened on the way home. I could not duplicate this afterwards though. Each way on the freeway is about 18 miles. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
Is that a big deal to fix? Would this give any type of code?
I dont mean to alarm you, but thats exactly what mine did twice, then, BANG!!!! She fell apart. If it was me, I would get it to a tranny shop ASAP and have it looked at. It was an expensive mistake on my part for thinking it would keep going...It warned me, twice.

I hear what you are saying, but time on my hands does not really allow for that right now. Also I am not sure I want to patch this trans up if it starts to have problems. I may just try to get a built trans from John Woods or BTS. I know it is alot of money but I dont want something that is going to keep me worrying if it is going to stay together.
What you could do is call up J. Woods tranny since your on the west coast and see what he says, worst case senario you need a rebuild. Maybe Mark Kovalsky(Edited and fixed), our trans expert will be by to confirm.

It takes a complete rebuild, with the replacement of some of the hard parts that usually are not replaced in a rebuild. It will set a code once it misses the shift enough times.

Would I be better off rebuilding or getting a built one from J. Woods?

I had the same issue. The tricumulator valves in the VB were sticking.
I had a local trusted trans shop diagnose and install a TRANSGO TUGGER II KIT and replace with all new fluid! I have had no issues since!
