I just got my tires at Pick-n-Pull auto salvage. I pd. 12.99/tire and then had them mounted for 10.00/tire and these tires had 95% tread left. I never buy new tires when salvage yards get totals in with great tires.

I don't know where you got your hands on a black CPS, but lucky you. I searched everywhere, it was sold out and no one knew when it was coming back, even jody (dp) said there's none. So I settled with a grey one. I had a generic one from advanced auto parts ( No choice) it boggled my mind for months. every time I had my wipers on the motor stalled out. Now yes this sounds like a no brainer NOW, since we all know CPS's make our trucks stall out of nowhere, but nothing I ever read linked it back to windshield wipers. So I figured for sure I had a bad wiring harness. ANYWAY long story short. Put a grey one in and my truck is 100%.

Ya the black ones are discontinued. Keep an eye on Ebay every now and then you can find a used one.
BUT the grey one also has issues. So dont be surprised.

The only issue that my truck has with the grey CPS is the engine is a little bit louder.
Still idles smooth, no difference in power between the two.
I did a comparison of the two side by side.
The magnet is twice as strong in the black one as the grey one.

Dan- how did you measure the strength of the magnet??? Did you do a write up?

Needless to say, over the many months they had their auction up, they finally sold out.
Keep your eyes peeled. Someone who has extras may sell their 7.3L, so they'll also sell their spare sensors. That's also how I picked on up last year, brand new in the box. It was perfect timing too because I ended up having to replace the one in my F250 right after I bought it.

UPDATE!!! Black CPS has been in there for a couple of weeks now. Absolutely no issues with my truck at all. No codes, and it has been running great!

Gotta love CA's registration....................will it make you feel better if I tell you what my reg. is this year? Well it's $716 and we still have the worst freeways in the country.
