So i finally figure out what is wrong with my truck. (see sticky thread about CPS).
Go to pick it up yesterday and when i go to leave notice that my clutch pedal is WAY to high. i know there is a pin that is a wear part that sometimes brakes and is a pretty easy fix. So i left it there for there tranny guy to look at today. They just called me and it needs a whole new master cylinder and assembly. To the tune of $560.
So lets add that to the $430 reg. that is due on my truck this month, AND the fact that my back tires only have 1/32 of tread left on them. And it looks like rain outside.
I am not asking for suggestions this is more of a rant. Because I have no options. i have no way of coming up with $990 for my clutch issue and reg. Let alone another $300+ for a couple of tires.
I apologize for wasting any ones time reading this I just needed to rant.
That sucks man, if you have the time to install it your self, I would do the master cylinder. For the tires, I really don't have any good suggestions other then drive slower then normal.
It's a Firestone 265/75-16. It was the stock one on my truck that never seen one day of use. It would get you buy for awhile, I don't know how much time has taken it's effect on it. But it looks good, no cracks or anything. I might know where you can pick up some other used tires cheap, have to get back to you on that though.
If you have a set of the cheap plastic hose disconnect tools, they will help in getting the clutch pushrod out of the master cylinder. There is not much room in there, broke mine the first time I replaced it.
they get most of their tires from the new arrivals from the junk yard. They take the tires off that are good and sell them to the used tire dealers. They are good tires with some to little wear.
We have used these before and had good results and they are about 1/4 the price of a new tire.
Hope this helps.
Just curious... who broke the pedal clip. Was is ok when you took it into the shop?
I will be getting new tires/rims next week. If you are interested in my existing setup they are- 16x10 weld polished (painted black but will come off quite easy) My tires are bridgestone dualer AT's 285's about 32". my fronts are 60-70% left. the rears are not so hot but they work. Let me know I could let them go cheap to help a bro out.
The pedal broke while at the dealership. But it IS a wear part so blaming them for it is kinda hard to do. Regardless i got the part for $160 and we are going to install it this weekend.

Sorry for the Hijak Nolan, BUT
Hey Billy where in FL are you, I have been looking for an inexpensive set of 10" wide rims. I am around Montgomery Alabama, and am in Pensacola about every 3 weeks.
