i got a bad batch of fuel with alot of water in it and it screwed up my injectors on my 2007 f250 just wondering if anyone had a step by step on getting them out or any pictures or helpfull tips. let me know thanks
remove valve covers. you will see under the valve covers the high pressure oil rail. there are large plugs in the rail remove the one in the back. unbolt the rail the bolts are a t30 (torx 30) there are nine per a rail. then remove the rail. Then unplug the injector and push the end threw the rocker box. to unplug the injector by the way just push the clip inward and pull up. next unbolt the injector. when removing the injector make sure the copper washer is still on the end of the washer. when installing the injectors please, please use a torque wrench and it set to 24 ft/lbs. I would also strongly advise to replace the hold down at the same time (this is not reqired by ford but strong advise as the bolts do go bad from time to time).
good luck
I found some simple instructions at ACCURATE DIESEL, click on the 6.0 injectors. The hold down bolts on the injector will also pull it out of the head when removing, if I remember correctly. It looks harder then it is to do. I happy with OEM injectors. Good Luck
One other thing I haven't seen mentioned (maybe in the tech folder, but not this thread) is that you need to replace the stand pipes (the two big allen head plugs cheezit referenced) every time you pull off the oil rail. They contain internal check valves and could become damaged if they separate on removal. Cheap insurance against a HPO leak in the future.
removeing the valve covers does not require tuching the turbo at all. to remove the left side all you need to do is remove the airbox, the air intake tube at the turbo, the ficm and with the air box out you can lay the degas tank were the air box sits. the only coolant lines to remove are the 2 small ones on the deags tank. pull them off and cap both sides so it wont leak and go to town.
cheezit is lying, takes way longer than just a few hours!!!!!
Kevin,
This forum depends on techs like Cheezit , Myself and many others to survive and provide help for the many members who need it. Trying to insult us is counter productive sooo please STOP!!!!!! and if you cant, LEAVE!!!!
