I am getting ready to replace the short piece of body side molding just above the Twin I beam emblem on the cowl of my '66 F100.
Problem is, I am not sure how to gain access to the inside to attach the molding clip nuts that I have, that is, unless the clips I have are not used, and the molding is secured with some type of barrel clip like the emblem below it.
Anybody done this, and could you let me in on the secret?
On mine two different clips were used to hold it on. The rear one was the typical clip one sees with the 3/8" hex nut on the inside. The front one was a press fit clip to my surprise. The actual clip looks like an H once you get it off.
Prev owner had bought a pair of the regular clips with nut. So I used them. Parts manual shows one of each, type D and type E, so I was a little confused as to how the trim piece was held on, but the dual clip setup worked.
