Windshield molding clips

I'm looking for the plastic clips that hold the lower windshield molding/trim on. I'm not having much luck finding them. Anybody have a part number and/or a source for them? 1985 F350, chrome/polished aluminum (whatever it is) molding if it makes any difference.

I'm having trouble finding them as well. If the part circled in the first pic is it, then the center part of the number is 42413. But the second shot is the only hit I find on that in the catalog, and I haven't found the Section R it references.

If you are looking for the plastic clip that is in the lower trim piece (as shown in picture in link) you can't buy these separately. You have to buy the entire molding piece. Fortunately there are still sources to get this molding.

Thanks for the info Gary, I will let you know if I find any of these anywhere. I think the circled part is what I am after.

I would guess the molding with clips is a dealer item? I will check around and see what I can find.

I got the belt molding from e-bay (I bought a used piece because I needed the plastic pieces no the trim itself). I have seen new (reproduction) molding at the "usual" classic Ford parts places (like Dennis Carpenter, LMC, and the Bronco Graveyard).

The metal clips (shown in parts picture) can be found easily. The item circled looks like the side and top molding trim retainer. The lower belt molding "metal clip" is longer and attaches to the body using two pins/studs. Whereas the side and top molding clips attach to one body pin/stud.
I have my windshield molding off currently (if you need pictures) as I just had the windshield replaced and have not reassembled yet.

Thanks for the explanation. I have mine apart, actually it fell apart. I think I am good. I will hunt around for clips or buy a new molding piece.

Bill - I'm dense and don't understand the point of your post. I'm missing something. I was aware that the diagram is for the E's, but I could not find a similar diagram for the F's. (And I take it that you didn't find one either or you would have posted it.) So, I had to post what was available to let 5280 tell us what part he was looking for, and he did identified the part as 42413.

But, while I have you, where is "Exterior Moulding Section "R""? In many places, such as the page I posted above, the catalog says to refer to it. But what I find in my catalog is "Exterior Moulding Retainer Section" which has no "R". Is that the same thing?

You posted the E100/350 pic from: Body Illustration Index - Section 030

I was aware that the diagram is for the E's, but I could not find a similar diagram for the F's.

I did post the picture...at the left.

FPS-8472-B Illustration Section: The pic that shows the windshield and etc mouldings will be found under: Exterior Moulding Index Section F 1980/86

The following is page 1 of the last entry in this section of the parts catalog.

Bill - The original question was about the plastic clips, but I wasn't sure whether it was the one at the bottom or the other clips. So I needed to post a picture (illustration) of the clips used in holding the windshield trim on so that 5280 could tell me definitively which one he needs. I looked the whole catalog over, including the Exterior Moulding Section and found no picture for an F or U vehicle that included the clips/retainers. So, I posted the only illustration available that shows such a retainer - the one for the vans. And, indeed, 5280 did identify the retainer, so the plan worked.

But then you posted with a and pointed out that I posted an illustration of a van. My question to you is why you did that? I simply don't understand what you are telling me. The parts catalog apparently doesn't have a corresponding picture of the retainers used on the pickups or full-sized Broncos, including the picture you posted. And that includes the External Moulding Section and the External Moulding Retainer Section. So I did the best I could.

The other question I asked was where the External Moulding Section "R" is as many, many times the catalog says to refer to it. But, apparently it really should just say "External Moulding Section". Right? My catalog doesn't have a Section R.

Because it's the wrong picture.
Clips are identified by location with circled letters.

Left: 1980/86 F100/350 / Right: 1980/86 E100/350.

As you can see, not only are the mouldings different F100/350 vs E100/350, but so are the lower clips.

So, why did you post the E100/350 pic (and from the body section)...since the OP has a 1985 F350?

If you had posted the correct F100/350 pic, I wouldn't have chimed in.

And btw: Most dealers did not carry the clips in stock, because FoMoCo furnished them with the mouldings.
