Hi, I'm new to super dutys and have a couple ?s. First, I'm looking at an 03 F350 with the mossyoak package. Does this give an upgrade to anything on the truck or is it just a pair of stickers. Second, the truck is equiped with the V10, I don't tow all that much, but when I do, it's usually a car, truck or dad's kubota tractor and mowing deck. I've driven the PSD and loved the power, but have been told that if I'm not loading it down fairly regular that I'll have problems, Is this true? Thanks for any info you can give.
I don't know about the mossyoak thing but your truck could care less if you load it or not. I know mine likes to go and stretch it's legs every so often as the wife just drives it to work, 3 miles, but load it just because, Nah.
The less you load/abuse your truck, the longer it will last. Also, you should always run your truck long enough to bring all the fluids up to temperature. And never race your engine before it's up to temp.
I just traded in an 06 F 350 with 178k miles on it V 10 and had the same automatic it came with,no trannie or engine problems, the truck it'self weighed in at 11,000 lbs plus towed 5 to 8 k a couple of times a week,at a distance of 100 miles each way, this puppy pulled well no complaints,it had 3 sets of brakes 2 tie rod ends and a fuel pump at 160k miles

i think the v10 will be more than enough power for you, but the diesel is always a nice option if you dont mind the maintenance. as far as loading it, it doesnt matter how often you do, just make sure you drive the truck often. these trucks arent meant to sit around in the backyard. my buddy's injectors got ruined in a diesel excursion he rarely drove.
I have seen a truck that had a Mossy Oak package I think. But I think they are super rare but I also think its just stickers maybe so interior things so if you find a truck you like you could just dress it up with the stickers and seat covers. The V10 is awesome aswell its a real hoss of a motor.
Thanks for the info guys. I've driven the V10 and the PSD (both 6.0 and 6.4) and I think I've decided on the PSD. I test drove an 08 the other day and this is deffinatly the truck I want. I don't care for the Mossy Oak stickers, that's why I asked if it added anything to the truck. Of course the truck I've decided on is a plain base package so I can set it up the way I want, just got to figure out how to pay for it. Thanks again for the info.
