I, too, jumped in the Brazos only once. To this day, my old man blames that river water for my sometimes strange frame of mind.
Can someone down Austin or San Antone way cruise up to New Braunfels and check for a spot? Like a state park, or KOA, etc.? I know we could have fun driving the river road, but it's been more than 15 years since I was down that way so I don't know of any place. Heck, they may have paved the river by now. We need a volunteer.
New here...but been on the site for a while...just hang in the 4x4 board. But this trip sounds fun. Would love to hang and talk and meet some fellow Texans. I have to remeber that not every one has 4x4 but i have been to a few off-road parks here in TX that are really really cool. The first is Shiloh Ridge in Alto TX. That is a need place....camping, LOADS of trails, and (duno if they have it all year round...) but a BIG mud bogg.! Would be cool for a group outting. Also, another park is Barnwell...up near Pitsburg(sp) TX.
Longview area. That is a need place as well. They pretty have the same thing as S.R. but they cater to more of the rock crawlers. But we made it with a '97 150 with very limited flex....just didnt get stupid! haha.....anyway...glad to see yall here and hope to meet some of yall. Im going to try to plan on going to the N.B. trip. Just waiting for some more info....im out....

It's good to see some activity on the site. If we do this NB thing, let's do it for all trucks. Not only do I not allow mud on my truck - I don't allow mud near my truck.

I live in Buda Tx. It's about 30 miles north of New Braunfels. I would also be intersted in such an outing. I have a 2wd, and don't really know of any legal places to get the 4wd trucks stuck, but I can certainly map out some nice country road trips in this area. We could probably find a decent spot out at Canyon Lake, provided everyone could pay a park entrance fee.
A few questions:
How long should this trip be? (In hours)
About how many folks are interested?
Would you be interested in camping overnight at the Lake?
Man...i am finding that this board is dead. BUT i would love to get out drive, camp and talk about Fords.....EVEN if its just 5 of us! haha...i got at least 2 that want to come. Heck...i would just be happy with a weekend camping trip. That is my vote.....ill stay in touch.

Has got real lonley in this place hasn't it. I gave up on the 4 wheeling when I sold my 78 F250. However if you want to meet for a beer or something and shoot the bull why not.
Well , I've been reading the sequence of posts and it looks like the "family reunion" idea has disappeared into the mists of time as it were!Anyway , I had my mouth set for alittle bbq and some cold beer and maybe some restored fords , but it looks like there isn't enough interest......sandy kuteman , weatherford , tx
I would still be interested for this summer but my truck is, as #5 would say, "Diassembled, no dissambled Stefanie!!!"
Since the state forums were locked awhile back. I assumed there were those who didn't want to participate anymore since I didn't recieve but a couple of emails regarding the get together.
However, that doesn't mean it still can't happen. I propose that those who are still interested, please post here and agree on a date and time. Even if it is just a parking lot or whatever.
I get out of the field on the 25th. A get together that weekend sounds good to me. I am in copperas cove and will drive a little to get there.( BBQ at Krosati's house?)
Sounds good to me, just bring your favorite dish and drink!
We can have a sanding party and get all the old paint off my truck while the beefs cooking.
Hey, there's an interesting idea. With enough people we could get that thing sanded down in no time, with little effort on any ONE person in particular. I'd be happy to sand my part if the favor was returned when it came time to paint mine.
What we need todo here in the current economic chaos is the modern day equivalent of the "Barn Raisin" where all the "ford truck owners" showup with their truck that needs to be fixed , painted , have a problem diagnosed etc , etc-----then you can invite a FART(ford automotive repair technician)to the Heehaw(BR 549) and send somebody for parts and then we can eat , fix , paint , diagnose , what have you until everybody gets tired and is ready to go home.........It just might work---this couldn't happen any other place but texass--we've got that "Oklahoma Dust Bowl" attitude so get out the whiskey and fire up the pit its Partytime----boys , I'll bring the Pearl and an extra porta poddy , fd :-X11
I think that barn raising deal is a great idea. I'm not the leading athority on Ford trucks, but I do know a little, and I would enjoy helping out others with their project. I also have 2 parts trucks and am about to get another. Maybe we could do some trading? Anyone else interested? I live in Waco.
