I don't have a diagram, but its pretty easy. There is a hot wire and a ground coming into the switch. The switch swaps these, one wire is hot and the other is a ground on the front tank, and the other wire is hot and ground on the back tank. The other three wires on the switch are fuel gauge, one coming in goes to the gauge on the dash, then one goes to each tank. What problem are you having?
Thats easy, but it would be easier to buy an aftermarket valve, it comes with a switch and wiring instructions, about $100 from JC Whitney.
All you have to do is get the valve off a junkyard truck, when you take it off figure out which three wires are fuel gauge related and mark them, then take the other two wires and run them into the cab, then take the switch, it has six terminals, the two far outside terminals on either side (it doesn't matter which) should have a hot wire and a ground wire coming to it. The two middle posts should go to the valve under the truck. The switch swaps the hot and ground wire to the valve back and forth. the four outside terminals have a crossover between them going back and forth between them.
allerickb,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.
So on the stock fuel selector valve connector,
Pin 1 is away from the fuel line end of the valve.
Pin 1 & 2 are the wires from the selector switch that swap hot and ground to run in opposite directions.
Pin 3 goes to the front tank sending unit
Pin 4 goes to the fuel gauge
Pin 5 goes to the rear tank sending unit.
