According to that article, F450-550 chassis cabs will still get the V-10. Who knows what they will do eventually, but it is hard to imagine them keeping the V-10 around long term for those limited sales.
I think they are trying hard to push as many buyers as possible toward the big diesel upcharge. You do that by taking away other choices.
The V10 may be around for a while in the commercial market. Ford is going to be using it in the ambulance prep packaged E-Series. The 6.4 wouldn't fit in it and now the 6.7 won't so they don't have an emissions compliant diesel for the 2010 emissions regulations that kick in 1/1/2010. They have offered the 6.0 for quite a while now but it's no longer compliant.
