rocker panel's
I am going to do that to my truck this week! I have a black truck w/silver twotone. My bed is all black now (after market utility/service bed, compliments of a dump truck) and the doors have the silver on the bottom. So I will only do the cab. How many cans did you use? How many do you think I'll need (Crew Cab)?
i used 2 cans, 1 per side, that gave me 3 medium coats. i wanted to do more but they didnt quite last as far as i wanted..... i want to also finish it up into the door jambs where your feet always rub the paint off but didnt have enough.
Looks great! THought about doing that with mine but decided I like the stripe and two tone too much... unless they make the bedliner in white...?

You are the man!
I think the bedliner would be better for protection though.
I don't know, Matt. I did that to my '95 3 or 4 years ago and I see the truck run around town now and it still looks good. And this is with our harsh winters and salty roads.
If you want a real heavy texture, hold the can far away from the panels and dust it on. If you want it smoother, spray closer and/or add color top coat.

well i did use my escort as a test vehicle before i did the truck. i gave the escort a worse case scenario- i did not wash the car, did not clean the rust off, did not even wipe the dead bugs off of it. just opened the can and sprayed it on. the only issue i had is that it didnt stick to the diesel silicone i used to fix the cracks in teh bumper. other then that it has held up for almost a year now. i figure that is a pretty good torture test. when i did it on the truck i washed it, dried it, sanded it, cleaned it and tack clothed it, then sprayed it. so i hope it lasts for a while. the only thing i have left to do is get the rear bed trim that the 94-96 trucks have on them
