E commercials are ****yy!!! The local dealership here has a radio commercial talking about the new 6.7 and saying it's great cuz it's "no longer navistar built".
I hope this engine becomes known as ford's version of the chevy 6.2 haha. I hate ford ugh
scorpion? yeah ford backstabbed international on that one.......so whats to say you couldn't, for not a pile of money, but a small stack and some ingenuity, turn a 7.3 into a scorpion clone?
When you mean clone, are you just meaning a CR 7.3? It's been done, but sure ain't cheap. But if you've seen how that engine and turbo are configured, it's very different than anything else out there I've ever seen. A compound turbo in one housing, reversed intake & exhaust runners, injectors that shoot a double pilot shot, etc, etc.....
Wasn't Ford suing Navistar to get paid for all the recall and failure nightmares they experienced from the 6.0L? How is self performing the manufacturing of a diesel motor back stabbing Navistar?
I truly hope Ford does well. They deserve it. They're not government/commie motors.

They were upset over Navistar saying they did most of the engine design. The 6.0 was somewhat of a joint project. Then once it went bad that idea went away and the sued again for warranty issues.
I wasn't saying that Ford was doing that commercial. It was a small dealership. They are very underhanded and if you knew the dealership you would understand the humor of there statements.. Sorry about the discrepancy.

Are any of these engineering ideals used on a OTR truck? I always thought that if advanced technology like the stuff Ford is doing isn't tried and tested on engines that go millions of miles then it probably will not work out for the best.
My bias for Ford comes from the horrible service I have received from them. I will never buy a Ford again.. I love my 7.3.. hate Ford.. hate the 6.0 I had for 6 months, in which 3 of those months the truck was in the shop..
The "service" you got from Ford was over Navistar's engine, right?
I don't know if you can compare the improvements to a V8 to an OTR engine. The reversed intake & exhaust runners are specific to a V configuration. The turbo is something to behold -- that's the part that scares me the most. I'll bet nearly a half of the engine cost is sitting on top of it. Time will tell, man.....
I thought they sued for reimbursement because Ford put forth a bunch of money to cover repair, warranty and overhaul work on the 6.0L. The money was coming out of Ford's pockets and not Navistar's. Didn't Ford setup some sort of investment account with all the money put into the 6.0L fail account?
I'm not a die hard Ford fan and didn't mean to come off as aggressive. I Just wondered what you were referring to. The only good thing about the dealership here is the parts department.
