So I am finally getting my truck going. I saved the money I needed and I am getting the tranny rebuilt to get her on the road, hopefully next week. I am trying to button her up and I was cleaning the interior, and I decided to take the cover off of the seat to seat how bad the original seat was and I was surprised! The driver side edge of the seat is pretty beat up but the rest is in perfect condidtion. Here is a pic of the interior. Does anyone else have this interior? I have NEVER seen this in a dentside. I am calling tommorow to see how much it would cost to redo the seat back to original condition.
Thanks! I was really surprised at the condition of the seat aside from the drivers side edge. The door panels are in great shape. The passenger side has a chip at the top (you can see it in the pic) other than that very clean. I am really stoked to finally get this truck going. The motor has 30K on the rebuild and the tranny is going to be a fresh rebuild, so hopefully a lot of years of enjoyment. I am torn right now though. I am not sure which I should start? The interior or the exterior? I am not going to drive it in rain or snow so the rotting should not go any farther. What do you guys think? I have never done body work so this is going to be an experiment for me.
Are you going to repaint the interior? If so, I'd maybe start on that first and get that done so if you get any over spray or anything on the exterior, it won't matter. Plus, once the interior is done you could still drive the truck until you get the time and money to work on the exterior since that will take you longer and you won't be able to drive the truck.
Yup, thats what I did, complete resto on the interior, tons of insulation too. Quiet, warm ( or cool ) looks nice, and almost makes me forget its still crappy camo on the outside.

I probably wont repaint the interior. It in really good shape too. There is one spot on the underpart of the dash that needs to be touched up. The interior needs a dash pad, carpet, floor pan on drivers maybe the passenger, seat redone, and the driver side visor tip is broken. The rest of the interior is good to go. The exterior needs rear fender, and cab corner metal. There is a lot of pitting and spot rust that needs to be sanded. She will need to be completely repainted eventually. I will get pics tommorow to give you guys a better idea where I am coming from. I am going to need a lot of help on the body......IM A NOOB!
Are you going to have the seat redone original or custom? I would like to have your original seat cover material to duplcate the lariat seat you have. Where are you located?

I am going to have them try to use as much of the original as possible. If they cant I am going to have them duplicate the seat to original. Hopefully they can do it either way.....without it costing me a months salary.
I'm loving the solid black Lariat. How much for it??
P.S. does the 302 of yours have EGR on it?
I had a solid blue '78 F250 4WD Lariat. Sometimes I wish I hadn't scrapped it.
I now have a brown/cream '78 F150 Lariat. So many things that are off on this one it's giving me a headache.
I think it does have an EGR valve on it. That color scheme is sharp! I can't believe I have never seen a Lariat interior until I bought this truck. I guess I just wasnt looking hard enough!
