I have 2006 F250 Harley Edition with about 47k miles. It started throwing a P0097 code a couple of weeks ago and after researching, it appears the IAT2 sensor would be the culprit. I assumed a bad connector/ground or bad sensor but while removing the connector the tab breaks off. It was odd because a short rubber boot was covering as if to protect the tab? I compared it to all the other similiar connectors and only that one had it. In any event, I need a new connector and possibly a sensor.
I've been able to determine the part for the sensor is DY984 but the only part reference for a pigtail was WPT437 at rockauto but the photo does not match the connector I have. So I pulled the Motorcraft connector catalog and literally twenty of the connectors look close. I cannot find any reference at an online Ford parts department. WPT304 looks close???
So if anyone has a connector or knows the correct part number, please point me in the right direction.
I tried to hunt one up awhile ago and was told not available from ford. I would call the local international dealer and try them. they make the harness for the engine.
I'm about ready to sell this truck over a silly pigtail. Four pigtails later I still don't have the right one. I'm trying the nearest dealership next week but wow this stupid not to be able to just look at a parts catalog and get one. I have no idea if other trucks are the same way but this is the type of thing that will make be look elsewhere next time.
I could see if this were a limited production truck but Ford makes a ton of these.
I broke the tab on the IPR connector on my truck about two years ago.I used Ultra black high temp sealant on the inside of the connector and put it back on the sensor then let it set over night, haven't had a problem with it since (each time I have removed it I apply new sealant).I put it on thinking I would replace the connector when I found one,I still haven't looked for a replacement.I am sure it will get you out of a jam and the truck running normally until you locate a new connector.
did you ever solve you P0097 cose issue, Im having the same code and replaced sensor. Code came back, unplugged the PCM it went away at first start then came back....Just wondering if you did something different.
If you get the connector part number try looking on Amazon.com
I needed a fan connector for a project and that was the best place I found.
Also in the back of the pigtail catalog is a listing of where each pigtail is
used. You may want to download a copy and have a look. Here is the link. http://www.fordtechservice.dealercon...torcatalog.pdf
