Well, I just got done for the day and so far so good. The turbo is still on the bench waiting for the WW to be installed and the foil delete is done. Under valve covers is done. Re-torqued, changed glow plugs, and Ford clips were already in play at the UVCH connection. Probably some past work at dealership. New up pipes are installed and that's enough for today. I'm sure I will feel plenty of special spots from laying on top of that engine.
New IC boots from Clay will go in tomorrow as well as HPX and FRX, and then the turbo and cross your fingers..........ignition.
WOW Patrick thats a nice little chore you done today. I bet you do feel it a little sore in the morning but its well worth it. At least you have the hardest done hopefully it all lines up for you.
Thanks guys. We are having two warm days and I figured this is the time to do it.
I want to do all I can while the turbo is out of the way.
I'm not much on pictures (pretty common stuff really), maybe an after shot, who knows.
Payson...I don't dare waste the warm weather, but you have plenty. I miss my days in Wickenberg.
F350-6...The only loose bolts I found were the injector hold down bolts, which took about a full turn each. All rocker bolts were right on for torque.
Sheldon...Actually, I was talking about the injector and rocker bolts under the valve covers. However, it takes some patience but with the right wobble sockets you can get most anything. 8ft lbs all around for the valve cover hold down bolts.
Today's dilemma will be finding a 5/16 twelve point socket to take the turbo apart. Imagine my surprise when I went to the box and found only a gap where the little rascal is supposed to be.
