We do have a lot of race teams, and kinds of racing in Tennessee.

Let's talk about 'em...

 

I do not know of any race teams or tracks, but I have a modified Lincoln Mk VIII... Very fast.
Wm

Right there in Memphis we have one of the premier racing facilities in the entire country -Memphis Motorsports Park.

It has a Drag Strip, an oval track, and a road race course all on the same property.

On summer evenings you can find your way to it just by following all of the car trailers, and once you get within a mile - just follow the sound of RACING!

Easiest way to get there is take I-40 to highway 51, then head north and watch for the signs.

I guess I had better download the schedule for this season and post it on here....

There are a few other tracks real close by, one in Jackson Mississippi, and another in what is called "West Memphis" but is actually just over the river in Arkansas.

 

The closest track to me is about 2-3 hours away. Maybe you guys have heard of it, it is called BRISTOL I make a couple of trips a year for both nascar races and a couple for the drags. We have a few others local and they are 411 Raceway, Atomic Raceway, Smokey Mountain, and Knoxville Dragway. I used to run the drags a while then I got married and that was stopped!

I'm looking over the event schedule for Memphis Motorsports Park.
The Craftsman Truck series will be there about 2 weeks ahead of the 4th of July. I don't know how long a vacation I can pull for the 4th, or what the class schedule looks like around then.

But I'm thinking about a chapter get-together already. And if we can go to the races too, that would be cool!

Come to think of it, I should check on group rates.

 

Hello everyone. I live in Western Tenn. as well. Milan has a decent dirt about 15 or so miles north of jackson. then Gleason has a nice little 1/8 mile dragstrip about 25 miles from where I live. And I'm curious on how top join the tennessee room seems like this is going to be a good forum.

Hey there! Over here in East Tennessee we've got the 411 1/8th mile drag strip! and there's a few dirt tracks, although they are escaping my mind right now.

Take a trip over here...do some wheelin' near the Tennessee/NC border at the Off-road Vehicle Park! It's a blast! and on the way you're bound to see a couple of race tracks!
