I am in Tennessee, but hopefully not for much longer, Wolf. To enjoy it here, you have to be born here, I think.. Too much humidity, to many tornadoes, and to much racism. I am from the Deserts of Australia, recently moved from the Desert in Colorado, so the Rain, Humidity and wet Heat here in Fayette County is too much for this Aussie. I will never be able to get used to the racial prejudice here - I was brought up with folks you probably know as Aborigines - a name born of prejudice. I cannot see a difference betwixt one man and another, and feel bad seeing the unfairness in this area.. I do not know about the rest of Tennessee, but I will be glad to get out of this end..

I guess its just us Greywolf . I live in Eastern Part of the State .
Theologian , Racism isnt limited or exclusively in Tn , Good lord look around , Its all over . I may be wrong & Oz is the only place on this planet free of racism but Im willing to bet there is someone or some group that hates another group or minority .
I know there is a lot of that in Memphis itself, but outside the city it's different. I guess because in the country people have to be able to count on each other.
I have seen a lot of it in Virginia too, since I have been stationed here - but no where in all of it does it mean that I have to be like that.
In fact, it amazes the people around me when I show simple common decency to folks no matter who they are or what their background may be. It's just how I was brought up.
Every human being has a heart and a mind, even the ones that use them badly. I don't turn away or close mine just because someone else has a different skin color or speaks a different language. I can't.
I think Theologian would agree a hundred percent, that it matters twice as much in a place that has that kind of thing going on to be the kind of a person that we were meant to be in the first place.
I have wondered if there was possibly a way to make them more attractive. Maybe to make something really special out of at least one that I'm thinking of...
It seems to me that a State chapter should at least attempt to report on local events, and speaking from the point of view of a military person stationed away from where I chose to retire - news from home would be a fantastic addition to CLUB FTE!
DRAG RACE results, Dirt Track Events, special events at home, fishing reports, or even just plain contact with some of the folk back yonder....
It all means a lot to people in my position, and given a chance to run with it, I'd take it as far as that sucker can go!!!
( -Dang, it sounds like I'm runnin' fer mayor or sumpthin'...)
I will join a chapter, should I be welcomed..
