Ok,I bought some retread tires two months ago, already put 2500 miles on them. Hiway and extreme terrain. These tires are great. Treadwright.com It's worth checking out. I bought 4 285/75/16's shipped to my door for only 540 bucks. They have a goodyear wrangler m/t tread and a bfg sidewall though. You guys have helped me out alot just trying to pay alittle back.
You should never run retreads on a front tire, and I personally would never run them on a pickup truck.
Ive seen enough of them come apart, they can cause serious damage to your vehicle, not to mention the fun of having one blow while on the front of your truck can be very bad.
Theres a reason why its illegal (up here anyways) to run a retread on a steering axle of a semi.
I know your trying to help though man, dont take my post as an attack on you
I bought some new Hankook Dynapros for about the same price and 1 year later, I am very happy with them. No road noise, tread still good after a year and they look pretty sharp!
I agree with Sheldon on retreads. I'm seen the damage caused by a retread coming loose on many trucks and trailers in my line of work. I personally wouldn't risk running them. The possible damage outweighs the savings.
Great idea!! But the effects can be very dangerous to you and the truck. Just keep an eye out and if you see any defects in the tires make sure and get them looked at.
