I think I'm loosing a bearing in a pulley because it sounds like one is going out. The problem is I can't ID it. It sound like its coming from the passenger's side up high. The noise goes away when the truck has been ran for about 2-5 miles. After a drive of 10 miles no temp difference between them on feeling the pulleys. Could it be a fan clutch? Can any one help? Thanks
With engine running, take a piece of wood (stick, dowel, stake, etc) and touch it to each piece that the belt goes around. You will feel the vibration when you find the culprit.
Based on your discription of where the sound is coming from, you may want to check your tensioner pulley. When they go bad they start to back away from the block....

Is this the case with all the pulleys?
I ask, because ive got what i suspect a pulley going out under the hood of my 99 f-250 w/107k on it. One pulley, the tensioner has a bit of wiggle to it if i try moving it ( motor off of couse) Another pulley has a bit of vibration to it when on ( the stick method in post # 2 or 3)
