power steering
i have a 1968 f250 and i want to install power steering. i found some useful threads on the subject but i just wanted to make sure about a few things. i want to make sure i get all the right stuff. i know i will need the bracket, p/s pump, p/s gear, and hoses but i thought i read somewhere that i might have to change the steering column. will i have to replace the steering column?

Yes you need to grab the column too. Total distance from apex of gear to the horn button is the same for both |-----x-| but the power gear has fluid connections on the top that move the connection closer to the firewall |----x--|.
Doesn't matter if the donor comes from a 250 or 100 either will work the same.

thank you. i'll have to start hitting the wrecking yards. i new that i could get the gear and pump from a parts store if i could not find a donor truck but the steering column i'll have to rob off something. i haven't found any donor trucks around here (modesto ca.)that have what i want for the price i want (most of them are asking more then what i paid for my truck). and most the trucks on the wrecking yards are stripped already.
