Lifted Our Excursion
I've never attempted this type of work on a vehicle, but I'm going to give it a shot while the family is out of town and I have an extra vehicle to drive.
Once the lift is complete, I'll decide what tires to get. I currently have 16X8 Cragar Soft 8's and Nitto Terra Grappler 295/75/16. Planning to order some 35's once I see how the lift turns out.
I'll post an update once the springs are installed. Hopefully some time next week.

By the way -- Did you also pick up replacement Shocks for front / rear ? and are you using any block in the rear springs ?
After reading more posts in the forum, I decided to buy Rancho RS9000XL's. 4wheelonline has 4 RS9000XL's on sale for $329.95 with free shipping and Rancho has a $100 rebate (in the form of a $100 Debit Card). Since I've had good luck with Summit and I had ordered the other parts from them, I had Summit price match ($329.95). Summit price matched and included the free shipping and no handling charge.
I just have to submit the rebate form to Rancho to get my $100 Debit Card (Same as if I purchased from 4wheelonline)
I'm planning to use the stock block for the rear. I believe I read that 4X4X4RV used stock blocks when he did the same lift.
Looking forward to the install. Hopefully I get good weather next week.

I'm extremely thankful that I had an electric impact gun. I don't have an air impact so this was the next best thing. It saved lots of work.
Unfortunately, I did the rear lift the first time with the rear block. Made the rear sit 2 inches higher than the front when we were done. I removed the blocks today and the EX now sits level at approximately 43 inches all the way around. I also installed a Skyjacker dual steering stabilizer today.
I took the stock ubolts to the spring shop so they knew exactly what measurements I needed and I just told them how long to make them. I believe I added an inch for the front ubolts. Turned out to be a good decision since I had not accounted for the steering stabilizer attaching to the driver side ubolt. My rear ubolts are now too long since I removed the rear block so I could have probably had the new ubolts made at least an inch shorter than stock.
My new Rancho shocks haven't arrived yet, so I put the old shocks back on and took it for a drive. I drove at 25, 35, 45 and 55 and didn't notice any vibrations. I took it easy since the stock shocks are almost maxed out. Can't wait to get the new Ranchos on this week.
Total costs
Pro Comp 22210 - 250
Pro Comp 22415 - 270
Skyjacker dual steering stabilizer - 130
4 Rancho Shocks - 329 before Rancho $100 rebate
Front ubolts - 39
Rear ubolts - 50
I already have 16 x 8 wheels and 295/75/16 Nittos. So it looks good, but planning to get 315/75/16 tires soon.
Many thanks to all who have posted their input on their lifts and experiences and to all who have assisted in answering my questions. What a great forum and a great group of people.
POST PICS !!!Great to hear that it came out the way you like. I'm looking at doing the same setup , so be ready for a lot of questions - LOL
So you ended up using no blocks in the rear ?
Now go post some pics !

I'm new to posting pictures and I'm working with a blackberry. I posted a picture in the "garage" portion of the profile. Let me know what you think. Be honest. It won't hurt my feelings because I know I like it.
Here's the Ex

Here's a picture of the front wheel space with 295's. I will be buying 315's soon.

Love the new look and new ride quality. The steering is now better, the ride is better and the look is better. So far I've set the Ranchos on setting 3 and it's great.
As for the 285 tires, my opinion is that they will look too small. My previous post shows my Ex with the lift and 295 tires, so you should have a good idea what it will look like. I'm extremly happy with the 315s. Maybe you could put on some new tires and sell the 285 tires.
If you're stuck with the 285 tires, I'd still do the spring swap just for the ride improvement. Then add bigger tires later.
Great thread and project!
