I've tried posting truck pics to my garage - wouldn't work. How can I post them for you?

1956 Ford COE C600

Can anyone tell me where the Solenoid is mounted on this truck? I have been looking and asking everywhere and no one seems to know. I could drill holes if I need to but would rather locate the factory spot. Thanks!

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I saw he ones in the garage, looks like a nice rig!

Here's how I upload pictures:

1: If you don't have one already, sign up for a photobucket account: Photo and image hosting, free photo galleries, photo editing it's easy and free

2) Upload the pictures to photobucket

3) Once they're done uploading there should be an IMG code listed on the page for each picture (it's a big long string of numbers and letter with [IMG] on each end), click it to copy it and then paste that into your post, the picture should show up

The starter solenoid is mounted on the passenger side fire wall if I remember correctly. I had a 56 COE but got rid of it about 20 years ago, so I can't say for sure now. I have seen it mounted under the passenger floor on earlier models near the battery. The easy way to find it is to follow the positive battery cable and it will lead you to it.

Those old Ford COE's are so butt ugly, they're cool. Strange how I really don't remember them from a kid back then. The old "B" Macks I sure do.

Thank you ms michelle. The battery cable isn't hooked up and the solenoid is disconnected and was in the cab. That is why I didn't follow it to the source. I am stuck looking for two bolt holes at this point. Thank you for the tips on where it goes! We hooked the wires to it the other day and tried all kinds of places where the wires would reach to but still didn't locate it. I will look closer under the passenger floor near the battery. We searched pretty hard on the firewall since that was where we thought it would be originally but didn't see the spot. It must be near the battery behind the firewall! Thanks again!

The more I think about it I am thinking my truck had the solenoid very low on the firewall way below the horn relay.
